Five Minute Friday Future

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Our Heavenly Father is a good, good, Father. I am loved by Him, and so are you! I need to remember this, and preach this to myself daily, or I will lose perspective about what is truly important. When I am looking at my circumstances instead of the cross, I start thinking discouraging thoughts such as “This will never change.” ,or worse yet, “I will never change.” I think to myself that the same sins that are tripping me up now, will still be troubling me ten or twenty years from now. Yesterday, I wrote a post about what I learned in the month of May. I was surprised at the happy memories that I recalled about the month, as I felt really tired and discouraged before I wrote the post. On the days that I feel discouraged, I need to hold tight to my Anchor. I need to remember the good, and pour my heart out to God about the not-so-good, and allow Him to fill me with His hope. I need to remember that there is Hope in front of me. Times up. 🙂

Yes! I just need to remember to live by these words instead of allowing my emotions to run away with me. Thank you for stopping by!

Love the verse you selected – today has been a terrible day and my fear of the future is this horrible black scary pit – I didn’t even want to write on the prompt it’s been such a tough day – but as I was writing I remembered verses – verses of God’s goodness and his promise to give us a future and being a God of HOPE (Romans 15:13) – but then you also reminded me that He is my anchor so even if my journey takes me into this pit – I am anchored. Blessings – DM

My pastor recently taught on prayer. He said that if you feel prompted to pray for someone, do it right then, because it is so easy to get distracted and forget. I am going to pray for you right now. Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You that You are our anchor. Please give Donna your comfort, strength, and wisdom. Help her to know that You will never leave or forsake her. Give Donna Your peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Thank you for these words. Today was rough over here too. We closed on our home of the last 14 years. I drove out of the driveway for the last time. So many firsts – and now lasts. But my future is secure. No. Matter. What. 🙂
