Day 5 I will trust in you

I love how the five minute free write words, seem to be the exact thing that I need to be reminded of each day. I exhaled deeply with a sense of relief and release when I read that the word is trust. I am reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct Your paths.” I need to do that. I need to acknowledge Him in all of my ways, not just the ways that are easy to acknowledge him in, but every area of my life. I need to pray about the decisions I make and really think and pray about what God would have me do. I shouldn’t be ruled by my emotions or what I think would be easier or more convenient. I need to remember that my own understanding is limited, but God’s understanding is eternal. I need to put my trust in Him in every circumstance.

31 days of surrendering to God Tell others the Good News

Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

I am a talker. I love swapping stories and sharing about my life with my friends and family. When I get exciting news the first thing that I want to do is tell someone about it. I share funny things that I come across with my children, and when they say something cute or funny, I call one of their grandmas to tell them the humorous tale. I am quick to share about my new favorite, song, book or movie, but am I quick to praise God and share with my friends and family the wonderful things that He has done for me? Why does it seem easier to complain and talk about the things that I am not happy about, than it is to focus on the many things that I have to be thankful for, and speak words of love, life, truth, and joy. As a mother of three children I know that complaining can be contagious. Well, joy can be contagious too, and I want to spread the joy today. I want to live out loud! So, what about you? What is something wonderful that God is doing in your life today?

Day 1 of Surrendering to God Worship

What is living a life surrendered to God? I believe that living a life surrendered to God is keeping your focus on God. If I am making the choice to read the Bible and pray throughout the day, I am more likely to think about what would honor Him in the decisions that I make on any given day. I believe the first step in living a life surrendered is remembering who God is and praising Him for who He is. When I remember that God is God and I am not. I am reminded of His greatness, His power, His goodness, His wisdom, His mercy, and His love. I need to praise Him and remember that “He must increase and I must decrease.” I need to stop confess my sins, faults, and failures and profess my need for God, and allow Him to fill me up. “Every moment that I live and breathe is a moment made for worshipping.”- Steven Curtis Chapman
