1,000 gifts

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory.

Psalm 24:9-10

The theme of the gifts that I noticed this week could be categorized as simple Summer fun.  I hope that each of you that are reading this have the opportunity to enjoy the hot long days of Summer.

I enjoyed swimming in the pool this weekend with my family.

My kids are playing a new game that my hubby picked up for them that they all enjoy playing together.

I have been reading Psalms and being reminded of worship songs that reference the Psalms.

My husband noticing our oldest daughters progress in reading. She is becoming a good reader. ❤

I received a sweet e-card from my Mother-in-love.

I love seeing rabbits running all over our yard. My kids love it too.

I was able to sneak away to have a little quiet time in my room on Sunday afternoon.

What are you thankful for this week?

Five Minute Friday Help

Help!  My kids are still at the age where they ask for help a lot. My youngest two still occasionally need help getting dressed or putting their shoes on. My oldest wants help reaching things on high shelves or lifting  large objects. So, I get asked for help a lot. I also need help. I call my mom a lot asking my mom for help on a various things. I call  my mom before I consult Google. She is way more reliable and accurate. My mother-in-law homeschooled my husband, so I call her when I need to pick someone’s brain about homeschool issues. I need God’s help most of all. I can’t face the day without Him. I am a stubborn, silly girl sometimes though, in that I do not always want to ask God to help me. I selfishly want to do things on my own, my way. The older I get the more I realize where my help truly comes from ,and my need to be totally dependent on God for help, strength, and wisdom.

I am happy to be counting gifts in this place again. This practice is so important to me. I find that counting gift helps me to be more joyful and more fully present in my days. Here  are some of the things that I am thankful  for this week.

I love  playing at the splash park with my children.

I enjoyed a yummy lunch with my family Sunday after church and ran into a lovely couple from church at the restaurant.

My hubby insisting I relax on a float while he kept the kids from splashing me in the pool.

My kids being excited about learning about sea stars. The Sun stars with a bunch of arms is my daughter favorite.

I love my friends who go out of their way to encourage me.

My Cuddle Bug being so proud of herself for serving herself lunch like a big girl.

I love listening to my Princess make up games to play in the swimming pool.

My Princess talking with my Little Man telling him that they will be best friends forever, and that they will visit each other at each others houses when they grow up.

Five Minute Friday Create

I have been longing to create for a while now. This Summer has been a busy one, and I thought something had to be pushed aside because life was so full. I stepped away from writing, but I really need this outlet to help me reign in the thoughts bouncing around in my head. Writing also helps me focus on the good as I use this space to record the gifts that I notice in daily life or the funny things that my kids say. I am so thankful for the opportunity to create. I have been very blessed by the friendships that I have made in this community. I may have to step away some weeks, but my creative side will always call me back to document my rambling thoughts and feelings and connect with old friends and new.
