My daughter likes to collect a variety of things from rocks, to flowers, to anything that she describes as pretty. She calls herself a collector and her collections make her happy, and make me smile. I hope she always views a dandelion as a thing of beauty, and I love how she finds so much joy in the beauty of the world around her. I don’t necessarily want to be a collector of physical objects. Rather, I want to collect memories. I want to take in beauty, grab a hold of it and record it in my mind and heart, and maybe even write about it with pen and paper. I want to slow down, and not be in such a hurry. Because far too often when I hurry I forget to appreciate all the beauty and joy in life. Here are some memories that I want to hold on to from this week.*
I enjoyed playing the ladybug game and sequence with my two youngest children.
We had fun catching up with friends and playing at the park today.
My children love the park, but they also enjoy playing outside in their own back yard.
My son loves bear hugs.
I am thankful for friends who pray for me and send me encouraging Bible verses.
My kids love the story Chick A Chick A Boom Boom.
I was encouraged in my prayer life by Bible study this
week.

I love you how keep a collection of things you love about the week. I didn’t do this enough when our girls were little (and now they get tired of hearing the SAME stories about themselves ;)).

I love the simplicity and honesty of your words. We so often overlook the fact that there is no better way to say that, for example, your son loves bear hugs than “My son loves bear hugs”.

Striving to collect memories is beautiful and is what sticks with children later… not the fact that the living room wasn’t always perfectly dusted. (However if your living room is always perfectly dusted then I’m just in awe!) Visiting from FMF#41.
